SL vs BAN: Watch - Dasun Shanaka Gets Castled As He Attempts To Play Scoop On Yorker Against Hasan Mahmud

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are facing off in the second game of the Super Four stage of Asia Cup 2023. Dasun Shanaka’s side after being asked to bat first have batted decently well in Colombo but were slow as well. 

Following the slow start, skipper Dasun Shanaka tried to up the ante and played some shots. However, he couldn’t get going and as a result, he tried something fancy and in the process got out to put his team under pressure. 

Dasun Shanaka tried to scoop the yorker delivery from Hasan Mahmud but he failed to get under that. The Sri Lanka captain got the thick inside edge and the ball deflected into the stumps. The batter walked off in frustration as he was livid with himself.

Dasun Shanaka departed for 24 runs off 32 balls. He couldn’t time the ball properly but his contribution could prove vital for the team in the important game. Sri Lanka won two games in the league stage and are currently on a winning streak of 12 games in ODIs. They would be hoping to defend the streak and start the Super Four stage on high. 

SL vs BAN: Dasun Shanaka’s side post a total of 257 runs on the board

Sri Lanka had a decent start with the bat as Dimuth Karunaratne (18) and Pathum Nissanka (40) batted well at the top. Kusal Mendis slammed a vital half-century as well. But the middle order didn’t contribute much apart from Sadeera Samarawickrama. 

Sadeera Samarawickrama ended with the knock of 93 runs and gave a much-needed boost to the team’s total. Whereas vital hands from Dasun Shanaka powered Sri Lanka to a total of 257 runs on the board. It’s fair to say that it’ll be a very competitive total on the board, considering the nature of the pitch in this game.
