Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar was impressed by Pakistan’s aggressive brand of cricket in the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka at SSC in Colombo. He coined the term Pakball after the Babar Azam-led side dominated the opposition on Day 1.

Pakistan has adopted England’s Bazball approach in the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka. The Babar Azam-led side has shown signs of great aggression and has impressed many with the approach that they went with in this game.

Pakistan first bundled out Sri Lanka for 166 runs and after that, it was blissful from their end with the bat. They looked to score runs rather than blocking and made sure that they keep the fans entertained. The visitors scored runs at the rate of over 5 and didn’t allow Sri Lanka batters to settle in.

Abdullah Shafique (74*) and Shan Masood (51) were the chief architects behind the destruction as they toiled with Sri Lanka bowlers and smashed them all over the park. Pakistan scored 145 runs in just 28.2 overs before umpires called the stumps on Day 1.

Following their impressive show, Shoaib Akhtar took to his Twitter account and said: “Is PakBall Becoming A bit of Thing”
