India Women's National Cricket Team batter Smriti Mandhana claims another record in the international cricket for women's by scoring a century tonight (August 3) in a Women's Asia Cup 2026 match against Hong Kong. In the meantime, she also surpassed the former India captain Mithali Raj.

With tonight's century, Smriti Mandhana has registered her 18th century in her international career for the Indian cricket team. She is now leading the tally of most centuries with 18 hundreds, surpassing South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt.

Laura Wolvaardt and Australia's Meg Lanning both have 17 centuries each with their names, while Hayley Matthews from the West Indies, who is at number four, has 15 centuries in her career. The night turned out to be a record-breaking feast for Smriti Mandhana, who surpassed both Mithali Raj and Laura Wolvaardt in different lists of records. Ahead of the match against Hong Kong, Mandhana was close to breaking the former India captain's record. The target was not easy to achieve, but the century had enough power to gift the Indian women's cricket team opener an elegant record. Smriti Mandhana has now most runs in women's international cricket.

Raj, with 10,868 runs, was on top of the list, which is now held by Mandhana, who currently has 10,880 runs. The difference between the runs of Mandhana and Raj will increase in the near future, as the active Indian batter is yet to travel a long way with the Women in Blue.
