India Women's National Cricket Team batter Smriti Mandhana claims another record in the international cricket for women's by scoring a century tonight (August 3) in a Women's Asia Cup 2026 match against Hong Kong. In the meantime, she also surpassed the former India captain Mithali Raj.
With tonight's century, Mandhana has registered her 18th century in her international career for the Indian cricket team. She is now leading the tally of most centuries with 18 hundreds, surpassing South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt.

Laura Wolvaardt and Australia's Meg Lanning both have 17 centuries each with their names, while Hayley Matthews from the West Indies, who is at number four, has 15 centuries in her career. As of now, a strong contest between Mandhana and Laura Wolvaardt is underway in the list of the century tally.

Smriti Mandhana breaks Mithali Raj's record
The night turned out to be a record-breaking feast for Mandhana, who surpassed both Mithali Raj and Laura Wolvaardt in different lists of records. Ahead of the match against Hong Kong, Mandhana was close to breaking the former India captain's record. The target was not easy to achieve, but the century had enough power to gift the Indian women's cricket team opener an elegant record. Mandhana has now most runs in women's international cricket.
Raj, with 10,868 runs, was on top of the list, which is now held by Mandhana, who currently has 10,880 runs. The difference between the runs of Mandhana and Raj will increase in the near future, as the active Indian batter is yet to travel a long way with the Women in Blue.

Smriti Mandhana registers the highest individual score in Women's T20 Asia Cup
Batting first against Hong Kong, India scored 193 runs in 20 overs, in exchange for 5 wickets only. Mandhana alone secured 124 runs in 64 balls, with seven 6s and 14 fours. The 124-run knock is the highest individual run score by any batter in the history of Women's T20 Asia Cup.
Before Mandhana's innings, Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu was leading the record tally with her unbeaten 119-run innings, which she scored in 2024 against Malaysia. Mithali Raj and Shafali Verma are two other Indian cricketers who are in the list of top 5 batters for registering the highest individual scores in the Women's T20 Asia Cup.
