Indian women's cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has surprised everyone with her unbelievable focus just a day after announcing that her wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal had been called off.
Instead of taking a break or staying away from the public eye, Smriti Mandhana walked straight back into training. Mandhana was seen wearing her training jersey, pads, and gloves, and calmly facing throwdowns at what looked like a private practice facility.

The RCB captain’s brother, Shravan Mandhana, clicked a picture of her in full action and shared it on Instagram with heart emojis. His remarkable calmness and determination amid the chaos took social media by storm instantly, with fans praising the Indian cricketer’s strength.
The fans said Mandhana has shown what true professionalism looks like, even during an emotional and tough phase in her personal life.

Smriti Mandhana prepares for Sri Lanka T20Is
Mandhana, who played a major role in India’s maiden ICC Women’s World Cup victory a few weeks ago, is now preparing for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at home. This series replaced the white-ball games against Bangladesh due to political issues.
These five T20I matches will take place in Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram from December 21 to 30. The upcoming home series will help India build momentum for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England in June-July.
Following the Sri Lanka series, Smriti will lead Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the upcoming Women’s Premier League 2026 (WPL 2026), starting on January 9 in Navi Mumbai.

Smriti Mandhana calls off wedding with Palash Muchhal
Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal have officially ended their wedding. On December 7, Smriti shared a post saying that the “wedding has been called off.” She asked everyone to respect the privacy of both families and said that her focus will remain on cricket and representing India.
Around the same time, Palash also shared that he is choosing to move on from the relationship after going through a very difficult phase. He also spoke about the many rumors heating up the social media and warned that action would be taken if people continued spreading false or hurtful claims.
The much-awaited wedding was scheduled to take place on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra. But things changed suddenly on the morning of the ceremony when Smriti’s father suffered a heart-related medical emergency and had to be rushed to the hospital.
Social media buzzes with rumours
Soon after, there were reports that Palash, too, had been hospitalized because of stress. Fans initially hoped that the wedding would simply be postponed until both families were stable again. But Smriti and Palash began removing photos and videos from their pre-wedding celebrations, which made people suspect that something bigger was going on.
They even unfollowed each other on social media and cleared out almost all of their shared posts. However, social media has been full of unverified rumors, including claims that a third person might have been involved. Some accused Palash of cheating, but he strongly denied it by calling it baseless.
