Smriti Mandhana’s father suffers HEART ATTACK amid wedding; family forced into big decision

Smriti Mandhana's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, has reportedly suffered a heart attack, which has halted her marriage with longtime beau Palash Muchhal.
Indian Women's cricketer Smriti Mandhana, who recently won the 2025 ICC World Cup, was in the best phase of her career and then took a leap in her personal life as well. Mandhana was proposed to by longtime beau Palash Muchhal at the same venue where she had won the World Cup.
Smriti Mandhana's marriage halted by medical emergency
Smriti Mandhana announced her marriage on the 23rd of November to renowned Bollywood singer and composer Palash Muchhal. However, it faced a major roadblock, as the cricketer's father suffered a sudden heart attack on the very day of the marriage.
The wedding has been halted as of now, and no details have been confirmed on the status of their marriage ceremony. The attack was suffered at the Mandhana family's farmhouse in Samdol, Sangli.
According to the family, Mandhana's father's health deteriorated on Sunday morning, and he rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. His condition seemed stable, but the doctors have prescribed that he be in the hospital for some time.
“The doctors have said that he’d need to stay in the hospital till the time he gets okay… I mean, we are all also in a bit of shock. We all want him to recover soon. Like I said, Smriti is very clear. She wants her father to be better first before thinking about the wedding," Mandhana's manager added.
Smriti Mandhana's manager confirmed the postponement of her wedding
Smriti Mandhana's manager, Tuhin Mishra, confirmed that she has postponed her wedding for an indefinite period, until her father gets better.
"This morning, when Smriti's father, Mr Shrinivas Mandhana, was having his breakfast, his health started to worsen," Mishra told the media on Sunday.
“We waited for a while because we thought it might be something normal and he’d get better. But it kept getting worse. We thought we wouldn’t take a risk and called up the ambulance. He has been taken to the hospital and is under observation."
"Smriti Mandhana, as you know, is very, very close to her father. So she decided that till the time he’s not okay, this marriage, which was supposed to happen today, is postponed indefinitely," he added.
Who is Shrinivas Mandhana?
Other than being the father of one of India's finest-ever women cricketers of the modern era, as he was an ex-cricketer at the district level, where he represented Sangli. He wanted to pursue the sport professionally, but did not have the support from his family.
Later, he supported his daughter, Smriti Mandhana, to emerge as a rising cricketer after she was identified as a prodigy in the game.
