'Sorry Rohit Sharma, time to retire': India captain sent strict message after MCG horror show
India captain Rohit Sharma's poor form continued in the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne as he was dismissed for another low score. He came to open the innings after batting at No. 6 for a while but the move didn't work.
In just the second over of India's innings, Rohit was caught easily at mid-on by Scott Boland as he tried to half-pull a short of a length delivery from Pat Cummins. He was dismissed for just 3 off 5 balls.
After the dismissal, he was severely criticized by social media users for his poor performance. The users blasted him for opening in place of the in-form KL Rahul and asked him to retire immediately.

The more you watch this series, the more you realize we didn’t appreciate captain Rahane enough.

Let's laugh at those who thought Rohit will get out on a duck just because he is in bad form. Never ever count out our leader.

I have been watching cricket for 14 years, and I've never seen a more overrated player than Rohit.

Rohit Sharma's poor form
Rohit Sharma is probably in the worst form of his life currently. The Indian skipper has been struggling for runs for some time now and his dwindling returns in Test cricket hasn't helped his team's cause.
He has scored just 22 runs in four innings so far at an average of 5.50. Rohit missed the first Test of the series due to the birth of his second child. In his absence, Jasprit Bumrah led the Indian team to a memorable win.
Rohit has been in poor form since the start of India's home Test season. He scored just 133 runs in five Tests at an average of 13.30 with just one fifty-plus score.
