Namibia will host South Africa and Zimbabwe for a three-team T20I series at their facility in Windhoek, starting later this month. The cricket governing body of the Proteas Men's team has shared the full fixtures of the tournament on August 7.

The Proteas will start their tri-nation T20I series campaign on August 28 with the match against the host nation Namibia (FNB Eagles). In the group stage of the tournament, each perticipating teams will face the other two teams twice before the final, which will be on September 4. The best two teams in the group stage will qualify for the final.

The South Africa Cricket Team will remain in Namibia for an ODI series

The series is crucial for all three teams as it will strengthen the relationship between the Southern hemisphere nations. Namibia has emerged as the third leading force, after South Africa and Zimbabwe, in this specific part of the globe, to empower cricket-related activities among the nations in the southern part.

After the conclusion of the series, the South African cricket team will remain in Namibia for a bilateral ODI series. The SA cricket team will play three One-Day International matches against the FNB Eagles. The ODI series is scheduled to start on September 9, with the third match on September 13. The second match will be on September 11.

All of the matches of the Tri-nation T20I series and the ODI series will be held at the Namibia Cricket Ground, a two-ground facility which opened last year.

Namibia is emerging as another cricketing force in Africa

It is worth noting that South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will host the upcoming ODI World Cup in 2027. A Twenty20 format series involving only the southern nation teams is also possible in Namibia. The proposed Africa T20 Cup is yet to be finalized.

The South African cricket board is unlikely to send their full-strength team to Namibia for the T20I and ODI series as they will have to keep an extended group of players ready for the upcoming tournaments. The Proteas is to host a Test series against Australia, Bangladesh and England, as well as nine ODIs and three T20Is in the near future.
