South Africa tour of India 2024 schedule revealed, women's teams set to play one-off Test, 3 ODIs & T20Is

India Women's National Cricket Team are all set to host South Africa for a multi-format in the June-July. As per the reports in ESPNCricinfo, it is learned that the two teams will be locking horns with each other in the three ODIs, three T20Is, and a one-off Test.

The South Africa tour to India will begin with three ODIs from June 16 followed by the second and third games to be played on the 19th and 23rd of June. The games will be played in Bengaluru. After that the two teams will be locking horns with each other in the one-off Test, which is likely to be scheduled in Chennai, starting from June 28th.

Following that the T20I series will be played from 5th July. The last two games will be played on 7th and 9th July respectively. The series is scheduled after the one-off Test so that both the teams get prepared for the T20 World Cup 2024 and stay in continuity in formats.

The India vs South Africa series along with New Zealand travelling to India was part of the ICC's women's FTP and was scheduled to be played between July and September last year. However, they were postponed because of the logistics and ICC World Cup 2023.

The one-off Test between India and South Africa will be the third Test that the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will be playing in the last 7 months. They recently played against England and Australia in December. The BCCI is prioritizing Tests for Women's teams as well. They recently announced equal match fees for centrally contracted male and female cricketers.

The three ODIs between India and South Africa will be part of the ICC Women's Championship. The top four teams in the tournament will earn direct qualification for the 2025 ODI World Cup, which will be held in India. South Africa are second on the table while India will qualify directly.

The South Africa tour will also be a great opportunity for the BCCI to take the Women's cricket to new venues in India. Earlier, they were mostly staging the games in Mumbai but now they are keen to expand it. The recently staged Women's Premier League in Bengaluru and Delhi.

India women take an unassailable lead of 3-0 in T20I series against Bangladesh

India women's team are currently locking horns with Bangladesh in the five-match T20I series. They have played a magnificent brand of cricket in the ongoing series and have taken the unassailable lead of 3-0 in the series with two games still to go in the series.

They started the series with a massive 44-run win in the first game and then followed it up with a 19-run win in the second game. In the third match, India women registered a thrashing 7-wicket win and sealed the series, dominating the opposition at their own home ground.

The series will also be serving a great preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024, which will be played in Bangladesh. They would be keen to win the next two games as well and complete the whitewash in the series. The 4th and 5th games will be played on 6th and 9th May respectively.
