South Africa to star in Test cricket on Pakistani soil after a 4-year-long gap

Just a day ago, it was announced that PCB is expecting the Proteas for a two-match Test series on Pakistani soil. The Proteas have not played a single red-ball game in the nation since 2021, when they played two Tests.

Under the leadership of South African former cricketer Quinton de Kock, they had lost both matches in their previous series. 4 years since 2021, this match will be played at Lahore and Rawalpindi.

The first Test will be played from the 12th to the 16th of October in Lahore, while the next game will be played from the 20th to the 24th of October at the Rawalpindi Stadium. The green signal was provided by CSA to PCB after their delegation visited and reviewed the conditions in the country.

Pakistan v South Africa Test Series Schedule:

First Test – 12-16 October, Lahore
Second Test – 20-24 October, Rawalpindi

Pakistan have also announced the schedule for the white-ball series, which will mark 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs. The matches in the shortest format of the game will be played at the same venues as the Tests.

Action resumes at Rawalpindi with the T20Is, while it shifts to Lahore for the next two T20I games. The ODIs would, however, be played from the 4th of November and would include all three games to be played in Faisalabad.

T20I Schedule:

First T20I: 28th of October 2025, Rawalpindi

Second T20I: 31st of October 2025, Lahore

Third T20I: 1st of November 2025, Lahore

ODI Schedule:

First ODI: 4th November 2025, Faisalabad

Second ODI: 6th November 2025, Faisalabad

Third ODI: 8th November 2025, Faisalabad

International Cricket returns to Faisalabad after 17 years

Faisalabad, one of the most widely known grounds for cricket in the nation, ahead of 2008, has not held a single international match. In all these years, a single match has not been played here; however, domestic games and the PSL matches have been scheduled here.

It was already reported that Faisalabad would be the venue for the upcoming series against South Africa. Though the red-ball matches have not been scheduled at the venue, the games in the longer format of the white-ball game will be played at Faisalabad.
