Cricket South Africa, on Thursday, announced the men’s team’s One-day and T20 International squads for the upcoming white-ball fixtures against the touring Pakistan team.
South Africa will lock horns with the Babar Azam-led Pakistan in three ODIs and four T20Is on home soil starting April 02.
The series will mark a new era of South African cricket under the leadership of newly-appointed white-ball skipper Temba Bavuma.
The 22-men squad-led by Temba Bavuma for the three One-day Internationals incldur wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock, Kyle Verreyenne, Henrich Klaasen, Janneman Malan, Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller, Aiden Markram in the batting department.
Andile Phehlukwayo, Jon-Jon Smuts make up for the all-rounder’s department while Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Junior Dala, Wiaan Mulder, who has earned a recall to the ODI set-up after two years, Lutho Sipamla, Sisanda Magala, Beuran Hendricks, Lizaad Williams comprise of the fast-bowling department. Daryn Dupavillion, who made his ODI debut last year against Australia has also been included. Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj will lead the spin-department.

No IPL-bound players in South Africa’s T20I squad for the series against Pakistan
As far as the T20I squad is concerned, since the four-match series will coincide with the start of the Indian Premier League, none of the contracted players like Kagiso Rabada, Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Anrich Nortje have been included.
Kyle Verreyenne, Henrich Klaasen and Pite van Biljon have been picked as the designated stumpers while Reeza Hendricks, Janneman Malan, Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen will lead the batting-unit.
Bjorn Fortuin, Tabraiz Shamsi, and George Linde have been picked in the spinners department while the likes of Dwaine Pretorious, Sisanda Magala, Lutho Sipamla, the uncapped duo of Lizaad Williams and Migael Pretorius comprise the fast bowling arsenal. All-rounder Wihan Lubbe, just as in the ODI squad, has earned his maiden call-up.
The three-match ODI series between South Africa and Pakistan will take place between April 02-07 at SuperSport Park in Centurion and the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg while the four-match T20I rubber will take place between April 10-16 at the same two venues.
