A major South African banter at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg marked all-rounder Donavan Ferreira's clash in a verbal confrontation with rising superstar Dewald Brevis as the Pretoria Capitals clashed against the Joburg Super Kings. Brevis's reply to the sledge was a glimpse of his dashing character on the field.

The SA20, a franchise-level tournament that was started with the initiative of Cricket South Africa, has now gained a global status and draws players from all around the globe who participate in T20 leagues around the world.

It includes players mainly from South Africa, and players contracted with the CSA, alongside several global superstars like Andre Russell, Nicholas Pooran, Jos Buttler, Shai Hope, and Kieron Pollard, who have been part of the tournament. Dewald Brevis silences Donovan Ferreira with brutal hitting

Cricket is a game fueled by emotions; hence, sometimes the adrenaline gets one to do things that they would not have intended to do otherwise. South African teammates Donovan Ferreira and Dewald Brevis share the same dressing room for the national side, but a heated confrontation between the two grabbed the attention in the SA20.

CSK skipper Donovan Ferreira, who also takes the ball occasionally in his hand, was bowling to Dewald Brevis, and he dared to tease the youngster over his low strike rate in the match and mocked his power-hitting ability.

Dewald Brevis immediately reverted, but not with words, as he smashed the balls to all corners of the ground. He pulled and smashed, and hit 20 runs in the next 4 balls of the Joburg Super Kings captain, with a four, a six, a four, and a six off the final ball.

Sherfane Rutherford and Dewald Brevis continue dominant streak for Capitals

Pretoria Capitals did not have the finest of starts since their second-highest scorer in this edition of the SA20, Shai Hope, failed to score runs at the top. However, four batters in the order, Bryce Parsons, Connor Esterhuizen, Roston Chase, and Andre Russell, all were dismissed for respective ducks.

Dewald Brevis and Sherfane Rutherford contributed significantly to the partnership and the team's total. Brevis's half-century, though, came relatively slowly, as he scored 53 off 47 balls.

Sherfane Rutherford scored an unbeaten 74 off just 50 balls, as he continued his lightning form in the tournament. The Capitals reached the 143-run mark in the 20 overs, with a century partnership between the two batters.

Pretoria Capitals seal top spot after fifth SA20 win

Pretoria Capitals could not manage more than 143 runs as they posed a target of 144 runs for their opposition team, Joburg Super Kings. The Kings' batters collapsed under the tight bowling from the Capitals' bowlers.

The Capitals appointed former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly in his first role as the head coach of the team. He was associated with the Capitals team in the IPL as well as the Director of Cricket.

With Ganguly's maiden season as the head coach, the Capitals have topped the table, having won 5 matches after playing 10 games in the SA20 season. Currently, they are the top team in the points table and have faced tough competition from Paarl Royals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
