Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Aiden Markram bowled a bizarre delivery in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Qualifier 2 of the tournament between the teams is underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Sunrisers Hyderabad spinners are wreaking havoc across the Rajasthan Royals batters in the ongoing game. They have made full use of the conditions and have put the Sanju Samson-led side under tremendous pressure at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

With conditions offering turn and bounce, Shahbaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma have been brilliant. The duo has chipped in with wickets at regular intervals and has put their team in the top in the all-important qualifier 2 of the tournament.

With conditions being handy for spinners, SRH skipper Pat Cummins also introduced Aiden Markram in the game. As he came into the attack in the 13th over, amid all the seriousness, there was a moment of laughter as well in the game.

On the second ball of the over, Aiden Markram bowled a horrendous delivery and it left many in splits. The South African spinner delivered the ball to short fine-leg as the ball slipped out of his hand and looped well Shimron Hetmyer and was nowhere near the cutstrip.

This left even Kevin Pietersen, who was commenting, in splits. The former England batter called it the worst ball he had ever seen in cricket. However, Aiden Markram made sure that he didn’t let the Rajasthan Royals get on the top after his effort.

Aiden Markram on the next ball, which was a free hit, made sure that he didn’t give away a single run. The all-rounder bowled a tossed-up full outside off that turned and Shimron Hetmyer tried to play the lofted inside-out and missed the ball.

SRH vs RR: Abhishek Sharma removes Shimron Hetmyer

After the brilliant over by Aiden Markram that put Shimron Hetmyer under pressure, Abhishek Sharma made sure that he cashes on that and picks the wicket of the Rajasthan Royals batter, who looked threatening with the bat.

Abhishek Sharma bowled a flat-length delivery on off-stump. Shimron Hetmyer went on the back foot to punch and missed completely. The ball, which was flat and quick went on to crash into the stump and send the batter packing.

Hetmyer ended with an innings of 4 runs off  10 balls. With his wicket, Rajasthan Royals were left tottering at 92/6 and inched closer to the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
