Both Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka would be itching to take the field against the same opposition in the decider in order to get things right and help the team win only their second T20I series in their last five outings.

As far as the individual performances of both batters so far in the series are concerned, they were able to guide SriLanka to a comprehensive win in the opening game of the series with Kusal scoring an attacking half century.

Pathum gave Kusal good company at the other end and kept the scoring rate up in his innings of 42 runs off 16 balls.

Both batters will look to put on a strong show at the top of the order in the third match and guide their team to a series win.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Kusal Perera, Avishka Fernando, Charith Asalanka (c), Dasun Shanaka, Chamika Karunaratne

The opening pair will be followed by the likes of former captain Kusal Perera, Avishka Fernando, present captain Charith Asalanka, and batting all-rounder Dasun Shanaka.

The experienced Sri Lankan middle-order batters would like to rectify the mistakes they made in the previous match and play with an aggressive approach to get the opposition under pressure.

The majority of the batters in the middle order failed to get going in the last match, except Dasun Shanaka, who showed some resistance at one end.

The Lankan team management would want their batters to ensure that this was just a bad day at the office and that they make a strong comeback in the last game of the series.

Bowlers: Jeffrey Vanadersay, Maheesh Theekshana, Binura Fernando, Nuwan Thushara

Unlike the batting, which failed miserably, the team's bowling lineup did a fine especially in the first ten overs, by picking up early wickets and stemming the flow of runs.

Having said that, the bowlers would be disappointed that they were not able to restrict Bangladesh to under 170 runs and would like to ensure that they can do so in the upcoming match.

Lanka has gone in with a lot of bowling options in the playing XI, seven to be precise in the first two T20Is, and is expected to retain the same combination for the third game as well.
