Sri Lanka is all set to face India in the 2nd ODI of the ongoing IND vs SL ODI series. The game takes place on Sunday, August 4. The match will be hosted by Colombo City at R Premadasa Stadium. The 1st game ended in a tie so the three-match series is tied 0-0.

Charith Asalanka is the captain of Sri Lanka in the ODI series against India. His team needs to buckle up to outplay Team India in the series. Ahead of their 2nd clash between both sides, below is Sri Lanka's predicted playing 11 for the match.

Pathum Nissanka

Sri Lanka picked their best playing 11 in the 1st ODI and will stick with them in the 2nd ODI too. Hence, Pathum Nissanka would open the batting for the side and continue with his marvelous form.

Avishka Fernando

Avishka Fernando was not part of the T20I series but is now part of the ODI series. He got out cheaply for 1 run in the first game but will look for a comeback in the next encounter.

Kusal Mendis (WK)

Kusal Mendis would capture the one-down position in the 2nd ODI too. He got out for 14 runs in the first game, however, will aim for a good show in the next. He will also keep the stumps for the team.

Sadeera Samarawickrama

Sadeera Samarawickrama will be another powerful batsman in the middle-order for Sri Lanka. He has shown stunning form in the 50-over for the last one year. He got out for 8 in the first match.

Charith Asalanka (C)

Charith Asalanka is the captain of Sri Lanka in the IND vs SL ODI series and will lead the side in the next game too. He helped the side after initial dismissals in the opening game and would look for a similar show in the next match too.

Janith Liyanage

Janith Liyanage is a good choice of pace all-rounder for Sri Lanka and he will play the dual role in the 2nd ODI too. The right-handed batsman has played 11 ODI games for the side and has impressed everyone with his decent show.

Wanindu Hasaranga

Wanindu Hasaranga will be a key member of the playing 11 as he is a spin-all-rounder who will be very useful in Colombo. Sri Lanka pitches are spin-friendly and all-rounders play a big role as they can contribute with both bat and ball.

Chamika Karunaratne

Sri Lanka played Mohamed Shiraz in the last match but they might replace him with Chamika Karunaratne. He is a pace all-rounder who can bowl at the start and also score runs down the order.

Dunith Wellalage

Dunith Wellalage will be promoted to the IND vs SL 2nd ODI too and play in the lower-order. He is a spin all-rounder but bats and bowls with the left hand. In 22 ODI matches, he has mustered 223 runs and grabbed 23 scalps.

Akila Dananjaya is another spinner for Sri Lanka who can do the magic against India to help the side. The right-arm spinner has 55+ wickets in 39 ODIs at a marvelous average of 30.

Asitha Fernando

Asitha Fernando is a right-arm pacer who has played 9 ODI games for Sri Lanka and bowls medium pace. He will benefit from the wind movements in Sri Lanka being a seamer. In the absence of key pacers, he needs to buckle up his efforts.
