A viral video shows Multan Sultans’ star batter smashing his bat in anger inside the dressing room following a fiery send-off.

Hyderabad Kingsmen, the newly added team in the franchise league, which has made a massive turnaround in the group stage of PSL 2026, continues their march by defeating a strong Multan Sultans on April 29. According to the format of the league, the losing side in the Eliminator 1, which is the Multan Sultans, was knocked out of the title race, and Hyderabad Kingsmen have advanced into the Eliminator 2, where they will face Islamabad United tomorrow on May 1.

Maaz Sadaqat aggressively celebrated the wicket of Steve Smith

Last night, Steve Smith and Maaz Sadaqat took the center of the stage, when the temper flared at the Gaddafi Stadium. On the last ball of the third over of the first innings, Steve Smith, one of the openers of the Sultans, went to whip the delivery off Mohammad Ali.

Only a few deliveries before, Maaz Sadaqat, a young cricketer of Hyderabad Kingsmen, dropped a catch off Smith, did not make any mistake when he got the second chance. At the Square leg area, the fielder took a sharp catch to dismiss the Australian batter.

Sadaqat dropped a chance early in the same over

The dismissal of Steve Smith was huge. The young fielder, who dropped a chance early in the match, threw the ball onto the ground as soon as he caught Smith. Maaz Sadaqat’s approach was aggressive in his wicket-taking celebration, which might have annoyed the batter. The video shows that as soon as the batter returned to the dressing room, he slammed his bat on the ground with force, in anger, and remained visibly upset even after taking his seat.

Smith was dismissed for only 13 runs off 10 balls with two 4s. Multan Sultans batters could not do much against the Hyderabad Kingsmen batters. Shan Masood played a vital, unbeaten 69-run knock against 46 deliveries, powered by four 4s and four 6s, and helped the team to secure a competitive total of 159 runs for 9 in 20 overs.

Hyderabad Kingsmen won the match with ease vs the Multan Sultans

Kingsmen batters chased down the target score with ease, winning the knock-out match by 8 wickets and 28 balls to spare. They needed only 15.2 overs to surpass the first innings total.

Maaz Sadaqat, an opener of Hyderabad Kingsmen, and Usman Khan completed half-centuries each to make the run chase successful. Sadaqat remained unbeaten for 64 off 33 (four 4s, four 6s) and Usman Khan scored 64 off 35 with eight 4s and three 6s. Multan Sultans used eight different bowlers to protect their total, but they proved ineffective as those two batters were in charge from the beginning to the end of the run chase. Mohammad Nawaz was the most expensive bowler of the night for the Sultans, leaking 19 runs in one over.
