Steve Smith-Monty Panesar feud turn ugly! Ex-England spinner mentions ‘worst example of Australian cheating’

Australian stand-in skipper Steve Smith has engaged in a fierce banter with former England spinner Monty Panesar ahead of the Ashes opener at Perth on Friday. The Englishman looked to have lost his temper as he took a brutal jibe at one of Steve Smith's horrific offences.
The Ashes are here, and so is the heat associated with the two nations participating in the games. England and Australia, the two oldest and biggest rivals in the history of the red-ball game, throughout this 2-month journey would not only have a go at one another on the field but would also look to tear through the opposition's psychology off the field.
One such banter has taken place between Australia's modern-day great Steve Smith and England's former spinner Monty Panesar. While Panesar admitted to having made blunders himself, he took a sharp jibe, claiming that his mistakes were in the Mastermind show while Smith's were on the cricket field.
Monty Panesar vs Steve Smith - Cold war continues
Ever since the Ashes were announced, Monty Panesar has been specific about the England team targeting the Australian great Steve Smith. Smith remains one of the strongest pillars in the Australian batting deck.
He has notably been suggesting that the English to be ruthless and target Steve Smith not only with gameplay but also with mindplay against the veteran. He suggested mentioning the sandpaper incident to Smith whenever he took the field to bat.
Steve Smith swayed off, making no serious remark, and went off-topic to take a dig at Panesar for his failed appearance on the show Celebrity Mastermind. Panesar, however, never intended to get this matter resolved easily, as he further pointed out ways for England to use his name as ammunition against Smith.
"The worst example of Australian cheating in history" - Monty Panesar's unfiltered take on Steve Smith
After the cold war between the Australian legend and the former English spinner continued, it took an ugly shape as Panesar has now turned hostile, taking a direct dig at Steve Smith's sandpaper incident and has also called him a 'cheater.'
Replying to Steve Smith's mockery of his poor knowledge on the Celebrity Mastermind show, Panesar said, "It's bad knowledge, but at least it isn't ball tampering. The worst example of Australian cheating in history."
This was not only a dig at Steve Smith, but also a direct attack on the Australians, as the former spinner indirectly called the Aussies out as cheaters in the game.

Panesar suggested England's sledging tips against the veteran Australian batter
Other than his vile remarks on Steve Smith, he also got all personal with the veteran as he suggested the English to drag him into an uncomfortable position by shifting his focus from the game.
He suggested that the Ben Stokes-led side should mention his name and further say that Monty is in his head, and with a no. 11 in his head, he is going to bat like another. He further stated that making Smith uncomfortable would be the best cited strategy for England to gain an advantage.
