Legendary Australian batter Steve Smith has named Master Blaster and ‘God of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar as the best batsman that he has played against in his international career.

Steve Smith, on Monday, engaged in a Question-Answer session with his fans on Instagram where he answered a variety of questions with regards to his career thus far.

When asked about the best batsman that he has played against in this career so far, the champion Australian cricketer had no hesitation in tagging arguably the greatest-ever batter to have ever played the game, Sachin Tendulkar.

Smith made his international debut at a time when Sachin Tendulkar was still dominating the game during the 21st year of his international career- 2010.

A human embodiment of perfection, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar enthralled the cricketing folklore with his outrageous talent, and incredible work ethic for the better part of 24 years of his international career.

Having started his career as a 16-year-old teenager against Pakistan in November 1989, Sachin Tendulkar went on to capture the imagination of the cricketing world, breaching the levels of what can be achieved on a cricket field.

Tendulkar was hailed as a prodigy thanks to the truckloads of runs he accumulated during his school days.

However, more than his talent, it was his relentless desire to improve, improvise and transform his game as per the changing demands of the sport that made him a “once in a century” freak.

Tendulkar carried the hope of the nation for a better part of 2.5 decades, and while he achieved some incredible things on the cricket field, it was his demeanor off the field that made him a real-life hero.

Tendulkar finally called it quits in November 2013 but not before he had broken and created several records which include most Tests, most Test, and ODI runs, most international hundreds, first ODI double-centurion, and many more.
