Surrey have roped in the 21-year-old India A and Tamil Nadu batter, Sai Sudharsan, for the ongoing season of the County Championship. The young batsman will be available for three matches for Surrey against Warwickshire starting on September 3 at The Kia Oval, against Northants (19-22 September, The Kia Oval), and against Hampshire (26-29 September, Ageas Bowl).

The left-handed batsman has played just 8 first-class matches in his career, scoring 598 runs at an average of 42.71, including two tons and one fifty. Sai Sudharsan plays for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and in 13 games in the league, he has scored 507 runs at an average of 46.1.

Sai Sudharsan is the second overseas signing of Surrey after Kemar Roach for this period. Surrey, who are currently at the No.1 position in the Division One standings, are without Ollie Pope, Will Jacks, Sam Curran, Gus Atkinson, and Tom Latham for the final fixtures of the season.
