Team India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is on the verge of a massive milestone with the bat ahead of the second T20I match against Bangladesh. Suryakumar Yadav has the opportunity to become the second-fastest batter in international cricket to complete 2500 runs in the shorter format.

The India national cricket team is gearing up for the second T20I of the three-match series against Bangladesh. The match will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, October 9. Suryakumar Yadav's side wants to win the game and clinch the series with one match remaining.

Suryakumar Yadav On The Verge Of Equaling Virat Kohli's Record

Suryakumar is on the verge of equaling Virat Kohli's record as the second-fastest batter to reach 2500 runs in T20Is. Kohli reached the milestone in 73 matches for the Men in Blue. The former Indian skipper announced his retirement from the shorter international format after the T20 World Cup 2024.

To complete 2500 runs in T20 Internationals, Suryakumar needs to score 39 more runs in the second T20I. Suryakumar has scored 2461 runs in 72 T20Is at an average of 42.43 and a strike rate of 169.02, along with 4 centuries. Babar Azam holds the record for being the fastest to reach 2500 runs in T20Is.
