India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has once again targeted Pakistan. He has made a bold remark about the so-called rivalry between India and Pakistan. Suryakumar Yadav suggested that the era when Pakistan used to dominate India is long gone.

When asked about his recent comment during the Asia Cup 2025 that there is no rivalry between India and Pakistan, Suryakumar has yet again shrugged it off.

Suryakumar Yadav said on News24, “I’ve never come across that record. I haven’t seen them winning since I came. Since I have been watching and playing cricket, I have never seen that they have won against us.”

He further noted, “Yes, I agree that they were a very strong team at that time, and they played well. But we also played good cricket in the past as well, and India is still playing. But our legacy has not gone down like theirs. Our level hasn’t dropped, and our legacy continues strongly.”

Suryakumar Yadav reveals the secret behind India’s golden run

Meanwhile, Suryakumar believes that the Indian team’s fearless mindset has been the biggest reason behind their amazing run over the last 15 months. During this period, India lifted two ICC trophies and the Asia Cup, marking one of their most successful phases in recent years.

It all started with the T20 World Cup triumph in June 2024, followed by the Champions Trophy win in February this year. And just last month, Suryakumar led India to another Asia Cup title in the T20 format, proving that the team’s confidence and aggression are paying off.

Suryakumar feels that the players have learned to stay positive and play with freedom, especially in pressure moments. Instead of worrying about losing, they’ve focused on attacking and enjoying the game, and this mindset has clearly worked wonders for the Indian cricket team.

He said at an event, “I feel in the last year and a half, when we started winning the championships, we started playing this game in a little different way. In knockout situations, not to think about fear of failure, just go out and do what we do best and put our best foot forward and not think about the result.”
