Former England captain Michael Vaughan is a big fan of Suryakumar Yadav, and he time and again proved how much he loves his game awareness and batting as he yet again made bold predictions about the Indian batter for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Actually, Vaughan has singled out Suryakumar as the key player who could propel the Indian cricket team to victory in the ongoing T20 World Cup in 2024. The cricket pandit has emphasized the right-handed batter’s prowess against spin bowling as a crucial factor in India's potential success on the challenging pitches of the tournament.

Suryakumar, known for his aggressive batting style and ability to dominate spinners, has been identified by Vaughan as a game-changer for the Men in Blue at the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

With his expertise at playing spin, Vaughan believes that Suryakumar has the capability to steer India through crucial matches in the ongoing tournament, especially on subcontinent-like pitches in the West Indies, where spin plays a pivotal role.

Vaughan believes that the Indian batter’s skills against spin and his ability to anchor innings and accelerate when needed make him a vital asset in Team India’s quest for their second T20 World Cup title.

The former England captain's comments came after India’s ‘Mr. 360’ delivered a Player of the Match performance against Afghanistan in their T20 World Cup 2024 Super-8 clash in Barbados on June 20.

Suryakumar Yadav matches Virat Kohli's massive T20I record

For his match-winning knock, the Indian middle-order batter was named the Player of the Match. For the 15th time in the history of T20I cricket, Suryakumar won the award, equaling the all-time record for the most POTM awards in T20Is held by Virat Kohli. Now, both Kohli and Suryakumar have 15 awards to their names.

Suryakumar said during the innings break: “That's what I have practiced; I enjoy batting from overs 7–15 because that's the most difficult phase where the opposition bowlers look to control things. I like to take charge in that phase; I enjoy it.”
