Suzie Bates surpasses India GOAT, becomes most capped player in Women's Cricket history

New Zealand Women's National Cricket Team player Suzie Bates achieved a massive feat in the history of Women's cricket. The White Ferns batter became the most capped batter in women's internationals, surpassing Mithali Raj's tally of 333 caps for the India Women's National Cricket Team.

Suzie Bates achieved the feat in the ongoing final of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 against the South Africa Women's National Cricket Team. The summit clash of the tournament between the teams is taking place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

Bates has been an incredible servant of the New Zealand Women's National Cricket Team. The opening batter is playing her 334th for the team and made sure that she makes an impact for the team in the big final of the World Cup against the South Africa Women's National Cricket Team.

The right-hander held the fort for the team after they lost Georgia Plimmer (9) early. She made sure she stayed there for the team and ensured that the team got crucial runs at the top.

However, she missed and the leg stump is pegged back. The New Zealand Women's National Cricket Team batter's wicket saw the team lose their second wicket for 53 runs. After her wicket, South Africa Women's National Cricket Team were elated and came to the top.

Bates ended with an innings of 32 runs off 31 balls. She batted with a strike rate of over 103 and also slammed three boundaries in their innings.

Suzie Bates is among the two players who have played more than 330 games in the Women's international cricket. On the second spot is India's Mithali Raj. Australia's Ellyse Perry is also there with 322 games while Harmanpreet Kaur (316) and Charlotte Edwards (309) are also there in the list
