Phil Salt has had a brilliant campaign with the bat in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL). The England star plied his trade for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024.

He had played for Delhi Capitals last year and did well with the bat too but the Delhi-based outfit decided to release him. Phil Salt then suffered another setback in the IPL auction as he could not attract a single bid. However, just before the start of IPL 2024, his compatriot Jason Roy pulled out of the competition and the right-handed batsman was signed up by KKR as the replacement.

Phil Salt grabbed the opportunity with both hands as he starred with the bat for the Kolkata-based outfit. He forged a formidable opening pair with Sunil Narine and the duo played a key role in KKR's triumphant campaign. The England opener finished the tournament as KKR's second-highest run-scorer, scoring 435 runs in 12 games with the help of four half-centuries.

Phil Salt reveals his picks for T20 World Cup semifinal:

Phil Salt is currently in the Caribbean with the England team for the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. After a successful IPL season, the right-handed batsman will be eyeing a similar campaign in the T20 World Cup as well to help his team retain the World Cup.

The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup got underway last week. With the tournament still in its early phase, Phil Salt has revealed his picks for the four semifinalists of the World Cup. In a video posted by Kolkata Knight Riders on social media, their opener revealed the names of the teams that he thinks can qualify for the semifinals.

The right-handed batsman started by picking England and Australia before springing a surprise by naming Afghanistan as the third team. For the fourth team, he went with Team India.

Barring England, the other three teams have started their campaign on a good note. While England's opening game was washed out, India and Australia started their campaigns with a win. Afghanistan, on the other hand, have thrashed Uganda and New Zealand so far and are looking set to qualify for the Super 8 stage.
