The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the elite list of commentators for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to be played in the West Indies and the USA. Stalwarts like Ravi Shastri, Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith, Mel Jones, Harsha Bhogle, and Ian Bishop have been included in the list.

The T20 World Cup promises thrilling cricket, and it's the commentary that truly elevates the experience. Renowned cricket commentators like Ravi Shastri, Ian Bishop, and Ian Smith have delivered unforgettable lines, capturing the essence of historic World Cup moments for fans around the globe.

Dinesh Karthik, Steve Smith Feature In ICC Elite Commentary Panel

Former T20 World Cup champions, including Dinesh Karthik, Ebony Rainford-Brent, Samuel Badree, Carlos Brathwaite, Steve Smith, Aaron Finch, and Lisa Sthalekar, will mark their presence in the panel.

The commentary panel in this year's T20 World Cup will feature former ODI World Cup winners like Ricky Ponting, Sunil Gavaskar, Matthew Hayden, Ramiz Raja, Eoin Morgan, Tom Moody, and Wasim Akram.

American commentator James O’Brien, also known as Jomboy, will make his World Cup debut. Other notable commentators include Dale Steyn, Graeme Smith, Michael Atherton, Waqar Younis, Simon Doull, Shaun Pollock, Mpumelelo Mbangwa, Natalie Germanos, Danny Morrison, Alison Mitchell.

This Is A Special Event - Aaron Finch

Former Australian skipper Aaron Finch expressed his excitement for the T20 World Cup. The former winning captain aims to bring his playing experience to his commentary.

“This is a special event and one that promises a lot of excitement with 20 teams competing and many thrilling contests lined up. I am proud to have led Australia to victory in the 2021 edition and understand the immense effort required to win in this unforgiving format. I look forward to bringing all my experience as a player to my commentary during the tournament,” Aaron Finch said.

A total of 55 matches will be played in the upcoming ICC event. Twenty teams were divided into five groups, with each team playing four matches. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super-8. Semi-final fixtures are slated for June 26 and 27, with the final scheduled for June 29 in Barbados.

The T20 World Cup will kick off with the match between the USA and Canada at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas on June 1. The West Indies will commence their journey against Papua New Guinea at the Guyana National Stadium on June 2.
