T20 World Cup 2024: Herschelle Gibbs laughs at Brian Lara, Sunil Gavaskar and Matthew Hayden's prediction for T20 WC finalists

Former South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs laughed over the predictions of Brian Lara, Sunil Gavaskar, and Matthew Hayden for the finalists of the T20 World Cup 2024. He said that all the greats of the game picked their respective nations and there was no neutral prediction.

The T20 World Cup 2024 is around the corner and the teams are involved in the warmup games. The tournament will begin on 1st June and the final is all set to be played on 30th June. The tournament will be played in the United States of America and the Caribbean. 

The T20 World Cup 2024 will also see 20 teams taking part in the tournament. This will be the first time that this many teams will be taking part in the tournament. With the kind of competition that is there, it’s fair to say that it will be a staggering tournament to witness. 

With the tournament just around the corner, former cricketers, and Star Sports, experts were asked to pick the finalists for the tournament. The likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Brian Lara, Matthew Hayden, Chris Morris, and others gave their take on the tournament finalists. 

Brian Lara picked India and West Indies to play in the final of the tournament. While Sunil Gavaskar backed Australia to take on Team India in the summit clash. Matthew Hayden had the same prediction as that of Gavaskar along with S Sreesanth. 

Paul Collingwood went the other way around and backed England and West Indies to make it into the final. Former South African cricketer Chris Morris feels that India will be taking on Proteas in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 on 30th June.

Herschelle Gibbs laughs at experts for the prediction of the T20 World Cup 2024 

As all the experts made their predictions for the final of the T20 World Cup 2024, the former South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs made sure that takes a jibe at the predictions. He pointed out that all the experts picked their nations and no one picked a neutral team.

India notably was picked by almost every expert. The Rohit Sharma-led side have named a pretty balanced side and will be one of the favorites to win the tournament. They first will be playing the warmup game on 1st June against Bangladesh in New York. 

India will play their first game of the World Cup against Ireland on 5th June. After that, they will take on Pakistan on June 9, USA on June 12, and Canada on June 15. The first three games will be played in New York and the last in Lauderhill, Florida.
