T20 World Cup 2024: India vs Bangladesh warm-up game to be first-ever match at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York

Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York will be hosting the India vs Bangladesh warmup game of the T20 World Cup 2024 as its first game. The Stadium will open its door to the public for the first time on 1 June, as confirmed by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Since the last few months, the International Cricket Council has been putting in the hard yards to prepare the ground in New York for the T20 World Cup 2024. The Stadium has been completed and it will also be hosting the blockbuster India vs Pakistan game.

The T20 World Cup 2024 will begin from June 1. However, before that teams will be locking horns with each other in the warmup games. The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium will see India playing the first match at the ground and it is expected that there will be a massive crowd.

T20 USA CEO Brett Jones talked about the opening of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York and stated that they are pleased to announce an opportunity for local residents to see it first-hand. He stated:

"We’re pleased to be able to open this warm-up match to the public, and especially glad to be able to provide another opportunity for local residents to see first-hand what’s happening in their backyard.

"Importantly, tickets and/or hospitality remain available for every match at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium and we’d encourage fans to get them while they can to ensure we have a full venue while hosting these incredible athletes from all over the world."

The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium has a capacity for 34000 people and it will have four drop-in pitches as well which ICC has brought from Australia.

The warmup fixtures for the T20 World Cup 2024 will be played between 27th May to 1st June in the USA and two venues in Trinidad and Tobago in the West Indies. The 16 warmup games will be played at Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium, Grand Prairie, Texas; Broward County Stadium, Broward County, Florida Queen’s Park Oval and Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago.
