South African batter David Miller has picked ace Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah as the biggest threat to him and all other batters in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. David Miller stated that Jasprit Bumrah is bowling well at the moment, describing him as a world-class bowler.

Jasprit Bumrah is the leading wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. He has taken 20 wickets at an average of 16.80 and an impressive economy rate of 6.48, with his best figures being 5 for 21. However, the Mumbai Indians (MI) are ninth in the points table.

The veteran pacer missed the previous T20 World Cup due to a back injury. Bumrah will lead the Indian pace bowling attack, comprising Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh. Bumrah's performance is crucial for India to end their ICC trophy drought in the upcoming event.

Jasprit Bumrah Has Been A World-Class Bowler - David Miller

David Miller, currently representing the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024, said that Jasprit Bumrah will pose challenges for every batter in the upcoming ICC event. Miller acknowledged Bumrah's consistent performance over the years.

“There are so many good Indian players. But me being a batter facing the bowlers, Bumrah is bowling well at the moment. And he has been a world-class bowler for many years. He's a threat to me, as well as every other batter in the World Cup,” Miller told PTI.

The 34-year-old batter praised his GT teammate Sai Sudharsan for his remarkable performance in the ongoing season. Miller described Sudharsan as incredibly talented with a promising future ahead.

“He's an incredibly talented player. Still got a long career ahead of him. I've enjoyed watching him play. I love the way that he preps. And just the build-up to games and how he goes about it. He's a very level-headed young boy that's got a lot of talent," Miller added.

We've Got A Lot Of Experience - David Miller

David Miller stated that South Africa has a chance to secure their first ICC trophy, noting their extensive experience playing together in recent years. Miller cited South Africa's experience and past successes as factors contributing to their confidence.

“This team that we have at the moment has played a lot of cricket together the last couple of years and has a lot of confidence and a lot of success."

“We've got a lot of experience, guys that have been under pressure before and come through successfully. So, putting all the individuals together in a T20 World Cup, I have no doubt that we most certainly going to give it our best shot. We have the players to do it, the skill to do it," Miller concluded.

The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup will be played in the Caribbean islands and the United States from June 2 to 29. A total of 20 teams will be divided into four groups. The top two from each group will progress to the Super-8 stage. The final match is set to be played in Barbados on June 29.
