As the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 approaches, all teams are finalizing their squads for the tournament, scheduled to begin on June 2. New Zealand Cricket (NZC) recently unveiled their jersey for the upcoming ICC competition following the announcement of their 15-man squad.

The New Zealand cricket team recently played a five-match T20I series against Pakistan without senior players, who missed due to Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 commitments. The Blackcaps managed to draw the series at 2-2 under the leadership of all-rounder Michael Bracewell.

New Zealand Unviel Jersey For T20 World Cup 2024

For the 2024 T20 World Cup, NZC unveiled a retro-inspired jersey, deviating from their usual black theme. The turquoise kit bears "New Zealand" on a white background, reminiscent of their 1999 attire. This teal-finished design adds a nostalgic touch to their look for the upcoming tournament.

On Monday, the Kiwis unveiled the jersey on social media. The photo shoot featured players like Mark Chapman, James Neesham, Ish Sodhi, and Tim Southee wearing the jersey.

“The team's kit for the 2024 @T20WorldCup. Available at the NZC store from tomorrow,” NZC wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Kane Williamson will lead the national team in the upcoming tournament. Devon Conway returns to the World Cup squad after being ruled out of the IPL 2024. Tim Southee will spearhead New Zealand's bowling attack, with Trent Boult, Matt Henry, and Lockie Ferguson in the squad.

New Zealand To Kick Off Their World Cup Campaign On June 7

The Kane Williamson-led side is in Group C alongside the West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea for the T20 World Cup. New Zealand will start its campaign with a group-stage match against Afghanistan at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Friday, June 7.

New Zealand will face the West Indies in their second league stage match of the tournament in Trinidad and Tobago on June 12. The Kiwis team will then play against Uganda on June 14 in Trinidad and Tobago, followed by a match against Papua New Guinea on June 17 at the same venue.

The Blackcaps are renowned for their knack of exceeding expectations in ICC events. The team needs peak performance against tournament heavyweights to clinch their first T20 World Cup. Notably, they suffered an eight-wicket loss against Australia in the 2021 T20 World Cup final in Dubai.
