Harsha Bhogle, the renowned Cricket Journalist, has claimed that Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya's exit from IPL 2024 is a blessing for India head coach Rahul Dravid.

During last night's IPL 2024 match, the Mumbai Indians' 18-run loss to Kolkata Knight Riders, officially ended MI's course to the play-offs. That means Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma will be leaving the MI camp as soon as they play their last league match of the season.

They will then begin their preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 where Rohit and Hardik are captain and vice-captain of team India.

What did Harsha Bhogle say about Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya?

After seeing Mumbai Indians lose their 9th game of the IPL 2024 season, Harsha Bhogle was delighted. Not because he doesn't support the 5-time champions or has another favorite in the cash-rich league. The reason behind his happiness is from an Indian fan's perspective.

That two of the key players of the team - Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya will get plenty of time to prepare. Everyone thought MI would reach the playoffs this IPL season but since it hasn't happened it's a blessing in disguise for team India as well as head coach Rahul Dravid.

Harsha Bhogle claimed that the biggest and most immediate job for Rahul Dravid is to get Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya on the same page. That the IPL has finished and it's time for National duty and it's time to try and bring the glory days back to the country.

Bhogle also tried to convey that Dravid must get Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya's heads right after such a tumultuous IPL season with the Mumbai Indians. Both Rohit and Hardik were in a negative space due to MI's poor performance, their lean patch, and of course the social media trials.

Dravid must tell Rohit and Hardik that they should try and do what they couldn't with MI this season and that is to win the Ultimate prize. And for a fact, if the Indian team wins the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados, then all the turmoil the duo faced will be forgotten.

Bhogle stresses on Rohit and Hardik's form

Another thing that Harsha Bhogle wants Rahul Dravid to do is to help both Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya re-attain their form.

"The capitulation of #MI has to be the story of the tournament. A very large no of us believed they would make the playoffs. But given that it has not happened, we must look at it from an Indian perspective. Rahul Dravid's biggest immediate job would be to get two key players, the captain and the vice-captain, back in a good space and, critically, in form. - Harsha Bhogle wrote on X.
