T20 World Cup 2024: Watch - Epic moment as USA staff teaches bowling to Dale Steyn without recognizing SA great

Cricket is still trying to find its feet in the United States of America and a recent incident involving bowling legend Dale Steyn will further confirm it. The incident will also highlight the enormous task at hand for the governing body of the game.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken a number of big steps in recent years to tap the USA market for the game. The ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is being held in the USA and the Caribbeans and hopes are high that it will make inroads for the game in the country.

And while only time will how things unfold as far as cricket in the USA is concerned, it looks like the ICC will have to continue working hard for it. Talking about the incident, a staff for the T20 World Cup had no idea about who Dale Steyn was when he gave some bowling tips to the South Africa legend.

The unsuspecting staff member was busy explaining the rules of bowling to one of the most decorated bowlers in the history of the game. Dale Steyn also made sure to play along as he patiently listened to the staff member before trying his hand at bowling.

The staff also asked the former cricketer to not bend his elbow while bowling before telling him to ensure that the ball bounces once before it reaches the stumps.

Dale Steyn is one of the most successful fast-bowlers in the history of the game. He plied his trade for South Africa in all the three formats. The former fast-bowler played 93 Tests, 125 ODIs, and 47 T20Is for his country and picked up a total of 699 wickets.

Meanwhile, the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 got underway last week. 20 teams are currently playing in the tournament. The 20 teams have been divided into four groups of five teams each. Two teams will be qualifying from each group for the Super 8s stage.
