The noise around Pakistan possibly pulling out of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 is getting louder and funnier with every passing day. Pakistan had started serious tension, but it has now turned into full social media drama, with smaller cricket nations jumping in and enjoying the moment.

Social media turns Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 uncertainty into global drama

After Iceland, Uganda has now openly raised their hand and said they are ready to step in if Pakistan pulls out of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026. Uganda Cricket’s official social media handle joined the fun on Thursday, January 29, making it clear that they are prepared for the big stage if the Men in Blue withdraw even at the last minute.

All this is happening just days before the T20 World Cup 2026 begins on February 7. The tournament will feature 20 teams, but even with less than 10 days to go, there is still no clear answer on whether Pakistan will take part or not.

Bangladesh, Pakistan and the T20 World Cup storm

It all started after the ICC removed Bangladesh from the tournament after they refused to travel to India, citing security concerns despite repeated assurances. The ICC responded strongly and replaced Bangladesh with Scotland in Group C.

That decision did not go down well with Pakistan. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi openly warned that the Men in Blue could also pull out of the T20 World Cup 2026.

Naqvi made it clear that the final call would depend on the Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. After meeting the Prime Minister, Naqvi said that a final decision would be announced either on January 30 or February 2.

Iceland Cricket roast ICC and Pakistan

While the ICC and PCB continue their serious standoff behind closed doors, smaller nations and fans on social media have turned the situation into entertainment.

Recently, Iceland Cricket, already famous for its witty and sarcastic social media posts, took playful digs at everyone involved, including the ICC, PCB, and even Scotland. Iceland jokingly said that they would not be able to replace Pakistan even if asked, because it is too late now.

They cheekily pointed out that they are not like Scotland, who managed to enter the tournament at the last moment after Bangladesh was removed by the ICC. Iceland even posted a long and funny message explaining why they are not available by saying, “Our loss is likely Uganda’s gain.”

Passports warm, bags packed: Uganda ready to replace Pakistan at T20 World Cup 2026

Soon after Iceland Cricket’s post went viral, Uganda Cricket joined the party. In a confident and humorous tone, Uganda declared that they are fully ready if Pakistan makes way for them even at the last minute. Taking a sly dig at Iceland, Iceland said their players’ passports are “warm, not ice,” and their players don’t need to leave their full-time jobs for the tournament.

Sharing Iceland Cricket’s long post, Uganda Cricket stated on X: “Dear @ICC, If a T20 World Cup seat opens, Uganda is ready - packed and padded. Passports warm (not ice). No bakers leaving ovens or ships U-turning. Heat, noise, pressure? We’ll bring the bold kit. Yours, Ready when you are 🇺🇬🏏”
