The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association announces an extended set of players for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season and the U-23 CK Nayudu (CKN) Trophy 2026-27. For both of the tournaments, the state cricket governing body has published a wide range of players, including a separate group of players for development.
These are not the final squads. Players who are mentioned in the team lists will have to join the camp ahead of the tournament. Based on the players' performance in the camp, the cricket association will finalize the squad.

Why does TNCA keep development squads ahead of the 2026-27 season?
In the official press release, the state cricket board also informed that they have selected a group of emerging fast bowlers, who will be under a development squad. The development squad contains nine young talents, while the probables team for the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 has 30 players.
The previous Ranji Trophy season brought a mixed experience for the Tamil Nadu cricket team. Following the ups and downs in the red-ball campaign, the state cricket association decided to invest in growing home talents. Instead of majorly keeping focus on established names, the Association took the initiative to uplift the local talents. The development squads are part of the Association's long-term vision.
