Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is pushing all its limits to ensure the long-awaited bilateral series against India. BCB president Tamim Iqbal is reportedly set to visit the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru with two other top officials of their cricket board.
On August 1, on the social media platform 'X', RevSportz reported that Tamim Iqbal will visit CoE in Bengaluru today with the chairman of the BCB Grounds Committee, Shanian Taneem Naveen, and vice president Fahim Sinha.

Why is the relationship between BCB and BCCI poor?
Yesterday, international media reported that to revive the bond between BCB and BCCI, the Bangladesh cricket officials sought support from the Bangladesh government. Tamim Iqbal himself went to discuss the current scenario involving both of the cricket governing bodies with the government hierarchy.
The relationship between BCCI and BCB stemmed from the removal of the Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL 2026 season. Rahman was about to take part in the league as a Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player, but his contract with the franchise terminated after BCCI's directives amid political tensions between the two neighbouring nations.
Later, BCB, when Aminul Islam Bulbul was the president, refused to travel to India for the 2026 T20 World Cup due to concerns for their players' safety. After the end of Bulbul's tenure as the Bangladesh Cricket Board's president, the cricket governing body shifted its direction under the newly elected government.
Tamim Iqbal met with the Bangladesh government officials before visiting Bengaluru
Tamim Iqbal remains a top-tier personality who keeps supporting in strengthening their relationships with India. To revamp the relationship, BCB is desperate to host India for a bilateral series this year.
They are hopeful to arrange a tournament with India, but nothing is confirmed yet. If the RevSportz report is to be believed, then the Bangladesh Cricket Board president, Tamim Iqbal, will meet with the BCCI officials soon, with the chairman of the BCB Grounds Committee and the vice president.
According to a Cricbuzz report, Tamim and the two other delegates of BCB met State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam on Thursday to request the Bangladesh government to initiate communication with their Indian counterparts regarding the white-ball series. India was scheduled to face the Tiger Brigade for a white-ball series, which did not take place.
What is BCCI's stand in the matter?
BCB is still hopeful to arrange a six-match series, including three T20Is and three ODIs, if their efforts prove fruitful in the near future. But the BCB officials are still waiting for a formal confirmation from the BCCI.
In the interview, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia mentioned that the future of the India vs Bangladesh tour is completely dependent on the government's policies.
"Our job is to run cricket. We follow the policies and regulations framed by the central government regarding bilateral and multinational sporting events," Devajit Saikia said.
