Taskin Ahmed to be jailed! Pacer booked after woman-linked assault, abduction threats; BCB takes action

Bangladesh National Cricket Team fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has landed in hot water over a late-night incident involving women and his childhood friends that stunned the cricket world. On the night of July 26, Taskin Ahmed allegedly called a man named Sifatur Rahman Saurav to Mirpur-1 over the phone and physically assaulted and threatened him near Sony Cinema Hall in Dhaka.
The victim later filed an official General Diary (GD) with the Mirpur Model Police Station. According to explosive claims, the incident involved alcohol, women, and even threats of abduction.

Some of Taskin’s own friends have told police that the fast bowler forced the victim into a car before things turned into a violent confrontation on Saturday night in Dhaka.
In his General Diary (GD), the victim accused Taskin of causing injuries and issuing serious threats. Police have confirmed that they received the complaint and are now investigating the matter. They even tried to reach out to Taskin, but his mobile phone is switched off.

Taskin Ahmed's friends alleged that he got involved in physical altercation with them by getting them in a car, and also stated that drinking and women are involved in this.

The Mirpur Model Police Station chief, Sajjad Hossain, was quoted as saying by bdnews24, “We’ve received a complaint stating Taskin physically assaulted someone near Sony Cinema Hall. We are currently investigating the matter.”
Taskin Ahmed in trouble as BCB launches internal probe
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director and Chairman of the Umpires Committee, Iftekhar Rahman Mithu, has reacted to the shocking assault allegations against Taskin Ahmed. Mithu admitted that an internal probe is already underway over the matter.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director has called the incident "very unfortunate" and stressed that iconic players must stay away from such disgraceful acts.
Iftekhar Rahman Mithu was quoted as saying by Cricfrenzy, “I saw the news in the media this morning. Our officials, Aminul Islam Bulbul and Fahim [Nazmul Abedin] Bhai, have also seen it. An investigation is already underway.
If this really happened, it is very unfortunate. Icon players should not be involved in such matters. I don’t want to comment further until we know exactly what happened.”

On the other hand, Taskin’s father is reportedly heartbroken and ashamed following the serious allegations against his son. His father said, "I was once proud of him. Now, I feel ashamed. I don’t know what happened to my son.”

Taskin Ahmed's career in numbers
Recently, Taskin was part of Bangladesh’s historic T20I series 2-1 win over Pakistan at home. He played in the third and final T20I on July 24. However, the Tigers lost the game by 74 runs, but Taskin shone with the ball, taking three wickets while conceding 38 runs in his four overs.
He has so far played 17 Tests, 81 ODIs, and 76 T20Is for Bangladesh and bagged 49, 117, and 88 wickets, respectively. Taskin is also a handy batter with around 700 international runs to his name. The Bangladeshi fast bowler also has over 570 wickets in around 400 domestic matches across the formats.
