Temba Bavuma ruled out of 3rd ODI against Ireland, doubtful for Bangladesh Tests

South Africa National Cricket Team have suffered a massive blow ahead of the final ODI of the three-match series against the Ireland National Cricket Team. Skipper Temba Bavuma has been ruled out of the last match due to the injury that he faced in the previous game.
Temba Bavuma has sustained a soft tissue injury on his left elbow. The South Africa National Cricket Team skipper got injured during the second ODI when he landed on his elbow while making ground at the non-striker’s end in the 12th over of South Africa’s innings and looked in pain.
Bavuma was retired hurt and then didn't come on the field during the second innings as he was deemed unfit to take part in the game further. The skipper of the team will be returning home with the other squad members and will see a specialist, who will determine the extent of his injury.
CSA confirms Temba Bavuma will fly back home
CSA released the official statement on Temba Bavuma, mentioning that Reeza Hendricks has been called up and the batter will be joining the squad late on Sunday (6th October). The statement read:
"Proteas Men’s One-Day International (ODI) captain Temba Bavuma has been ruled out of the third ODI against Ireland due to a soft tissue injury on his left elbow. The 34-year-old sustained the injury during the second ODI on Friday after landing on his elbow while making ground at the non-striker’s end in the 12th over of South Africa’s innings.
"The injury prevented him from fielding. Bavuma will return home with the rest of the squad on Tuesday and will consult a specialist. An update on the extent of his injury will be provided in due course. Reeza Hendricks has been called up as his replacement. The 35-year-old will arrive in Abu Dhabi later today."
The reports in ESPNCricinfo claimed that Bavuma also is doubtful for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The first match will be played from the 21st of October, and CSA is hoping for him to get fit by the time the series starts.
Rassie van der Dussen to captain South Africa in the last ODI against Ireland in the absence of Temba Bavuma
With Temba Bavuma getting ruled out of the last ODI against Ireland and Aiden Markram also rested for the series, CSA has named Rassie van der Dussen as the captain for the last game. He would be hoping to make an impact and prove his prowess as a leader.
South Africa also will be without the services of Wiaan Mulder as well for the last game of the series. The all-rounder has flown back home due to personal reasons. CSA confirmed about the development and stated:
"All-rounder Wiaan Mulder has returned home today due to personal reasons. Rassie van der Dussen will captain the team for the final match of the series on Monday."
South Africa lead the three-match series by 2-0
South Africa have already won the three-match ODI series as they have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead. The last game of the series will be played on Monday (7th October). They would be keen to complete the whitewash and end the tour on high. The T20I series between the teams ended at 1-1.
