In his debut game of The Hundred 2023, Spencer Johnson came up with an impeccable bowling show of a 3-wicket haul for just 1 run. The left-arm pacer bowled his four sets in the encounter against Manchester Originals.
Johnson bowled 19 dot balls during his four sets of five balls each. He dismissed tailenders Usama Mir, Tom Hartley, and Joshua Little in the match. I Am Speechless: Spencer Johnson After Debut For Oval Invincibles
During the post-match presentation, Spencer Johnson was speechless after his spectacular debut in The Hundred 2023.
“I’m speechless, not really sure what’s going on. I’m pinching myself…I’ve had a bit of a tough run with injury but I’m 27 now and come out the other side. I’m just really enjoying my cricket and lucky to be here,” the 27-year-old said.
Oval Invincibles captain Sam Billings also lauded Johnson for his bowling show in the match. Billings said the left-armer gave a special bowling performance against batting giants like Jos Buttler and Phil Salt.
“To provide a performance like that against Jos Buttler and Phil Salt as well, two of the best players in the world at the moment, I can’t really put into words how special that bowling performance is,” Sam Billings said.

Oval Invincibles crush Manchester Originals By 94 Runs
Talking about the Oval Invincibles vs Manchester Originals game, the former won the encounter by 94 runs. Batting first, Oval Invinbles hit 186-5 in 1st innings with half-centuries by Jason Roy (59) and Heinrich Klaasen (60).
Later, Manchester Originals were bowled out for just 92, losing the encounter by a big margin. Sunil Narine and Spencer Johnson grabbed 3 wickets each for Oval. Gus Atkinson and Nathan Sowter hunted 2 scalps each.
