The newly created format ‘The Hundred’ may have polarized opinions among cricket fans but in the eyes of England white-ball captain, Eoin Morgan, the tournament is already a success.

Morgan, who is leading the ‘London Spirit’ in the inaugural season of the 100-ball competition, believes that ‘The Hundred’ is already better than the T20 Blast and it will only get better with time.

The England World Cup-winning skipper further added that the crowd support that the Hundred has received is the best that he has witnessed in the UK outside of international cricket.

”It’s already better [than the T20 Blast]. It’s everything I thought it would be. I was probably one of the few that could see the vision. But even after the game, that was called off, the biggest thing was watching the home support. It was as good as we had outside of international cricket.” Eoin Morgan said as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

Eoin Morgan further added that women’s cricket is benefitting from having their own Hundred ball competition and the standard of cricket, according to him, has been pretty high.

“I think the support for the women has been outstanding. The standard of cricket has been brilliant. I only think it will get bigger and better,” said Morgan.

Morgan’s side London Spirits though have endured a poor start to their campaign. They got beat in their first game by Birmingham Phoenix by three wickets while the second fixture against Oval Invincibles ended in a washout.

Their last fixture also resulted in a disappointment as the Morgan-led unit went down to Trent Rockets by seven wickets.
