The Indian opener Rohit Sharma wasn’t convinced with the theory on him having a lot more time to play the ball than other batsmen and expressed his views over the debate. Rohit has shown a different side of his game with an outstanding defensive technique in tough conditions. He has played out the new ball and has waited for the loose balls patiently.

From scoring 264 single-handedly in a One day international, this transformation of Rohit Sharma is significant for the growth of the test team. It gives so much belief inside players at the other end as well as in the dressing room. he scored his first half-century in England as an opener yesterday at Lord’s in the first innings and was dismissed for 83 by a James Anderson beauty.

Rohit Sharma Disagrees To The Statement Of Having A Lot Of Time

Rohit mentioned that he has to be ready while the bowler loads up like every other batsman and there isn’t any extra time for him. He reckoned that the tough challenge is the same for everyone and stressed the importance of mindset to master batting.

“I’ve heard people say that ‘he has got a lot of time’. No boss, I don’t have any time. I know that when I’m facing the bowler, you have to be ready. There is no such thing as extra time or he has got more time. Every batsman is challenged when he is facing the bowler, so you just have to be on top of your game, mindset to come out on top for that particular delivery,”

“There is no time. Those guys are quick enough to rattle you. Yes, technically you can say that he plays the ball late, but there is no such thing as ‘he has got less time, more time’. I don’t think so,” Rohit said in a video with Dinesh Karthik.
