The Asia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan was a battle of nerves, skills, and words at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 28. Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube became the heroes of the night, as they not only steered India to a thrilling five-wicket win over Pakistan but also silenced the relentless chatter from the bowlers with their bats in Dubai.
Chasing 147 in the title clash, the Indian cricket team had a nightmare start. They slipped to 20/3 in just four overs, including the big wicket of the in-form opener Abhishek Sharma. The pressure was sky-high on India, as Pakistan was on top after getting quick wickets in the powerplay.

That’s when Tilak Varma walked in to change the script. While Pakistan’s bowlers didn’t hold back their words to disturb the young Indian gun, he decided to respond in the most powerful way. The left-handed batter first steadied the innings with Sanju Samson (24).
Tilak and Samson added 57 crucial runs off 50 balls. But the real turnaround came when the Hyderabad batter joined hands with the star all-rounder Shivam Dube. They stitched a game-changing 60-run standoff in just 40 balls and broke Pakistan’s momentum and confidence.
Tilak finished unbeaten on 69 from 53 balls and struck the defining six against Haris Rauf in the final over. On the other hand, Dube played a fiery knock of 33 off 22 balls to take the game away from Pakistan’s grip. In the end, it was Rinku Singh, who faced his first and only ball of the tournament, who hit a boundary that sealed India’s ninth Asia Cup title with two balls to spare.

After the match, Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube revealed how they handled the nonstop sledging from the Pakistani bowlers during the tense chase in the final. They kept their cool, ignored the noise, and let their bats answer back to turn the match in India’s favor against Pakistan.
In the latest video shared by the BCCI on its official website, Shivam Dube said, “I think my bat did the talking, so they didn't get a chance to speak; that's it. I won't say anything else.”
On the other hand, Tilak Varma noted, “Exactly, I am also of the same opinion. They were saying a lot from the start. I just showed them with the bat. They aren't visible on the field now.”

Anand Mahindra salutes Team India after Asia Cup 2025 triumph
Meanwhile, billionaire Anand Mahindra has the young Indian team and called the ‘self-belief’ the ‘true Brahmastra’ of the Men in Blue after their Asia Cup 2025 triumph.
He posted on X: “Self-belief. The true Brahmastra of this team. When the bowlers saw the opposition opening batsmen running away with the game, they held their focus and then made the wickets tumble like skittles. When the batsmen saw our opening heroes depart early, they stayed calm and turned the chase into a stroll. Nerves of steel, ice in their veins. Self-belief is the Brahmastra of every individual and of a nation. I salute #TeamIndia for reminding us of that truth.”
Self-belief.
