After the second ball of the 18th over of the first innings, the batters of RCB— Tim David and Jitesh Sharma— were in the middle of the crease as David was trying to explain something showing the ball.

While David was juggling the ball, one of the umpires was trying to pull it back, but David remained firm on his stance. After a while, another umpire walked in and settled things. Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma also walked into the batter's box and urged the umpires to intervene. Sharma and David had a brief talk after resuming the match.

A bad day in the office for the Mumbai Indians bowlers
In the presence of experienced bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Hardik Pandya, and Mitchell Santner, MI sustained a bad fielding performance tonight. Bumrah again remained wicketless in the ongoing IPL 2026 season, while Pandya, Boult, Santner, and Shardul Thakur claimed one wicket each.
