The India vs England third Test at Lord's ended with some drama at the end of Day 3. The theatrics were marked with on-field agitation between the English opener, Zak Crawley, and the rest of the Indian team.

After leveling the score of 387 with England, the Indian innings was also brought to an end. Indian fielders rushed to the field in an attempt to complete a minimum of 2 overs before ending the day's play, as 6 minutes were left on the clock.

The Indian captain had then accused Zak Crawley of wasting time during the first over of the second English innings. Shuman looked notably frustrated after Crawley halted the game twice during the first over bowled by Jasprit Bumrah.

Shubman Gill abuses Crawley at Lord's

After Jasprit Bumrah, who took the new ball, rushed in with his first two deliveries, Zak Crawley pulled out on the third ball due to some movement near the sight screen.

Gill, the 25-year-old, looked agitated by this incident as he screamed, "Grow some f***king balls."

After two more balls, Crawley looked in some discomfort after a ball from Bumrah had struck Crawley on the gloves. He immediately called in for some medical assistance while several Indian players remarked sarcastically when they walked past.

Tim Southee hits back at Shubman Gill

Reacting to Gill's overreactions on the ground, the England red-ball bowling coach, Tim Southee, hit back at the new skipper of the Indian side. He has strayed from the time-wasting allegations, saying that receiving treatment on the field is not against the rules.

"It's always exciting to see both sides animated towards the end. I'm not sure what they were complaining about when Shubman Gill was lying down getting a massage in the middle of the day yesterday."

It's obviously part of the game when you're near the end of the day. It's an exciting way to finish the day," said Tim Southee while backing England's strategies and slamming Shubman Gill for his hypocrisy.

"Both sides have played some good cricket and in a good spirit, and tonight was just a bit of energy towards the end of the day," he said. "It's been a long three days, and it was good to see the energy still there from both sides."

Tim Southee updates that Zak Crawley had to be monitored overnight due to a possible injury scare he received when the ball struck him badly on the gloves.

India targets early advantage on Day 4

As of now, the Lord's test looks much like a double-sided game, and hence might be nearing a draw. India has had limited success at Lord's, and Shubman Gill would be looking to enlist himself among legendary captains to win a test at Lord's after his Edgbaston wonder.

KL Rahul made India's intentions clear to look for early wickets on Day 4, as the team is charged up, which can be anticipated by the theatrics that were observed as a heated exchange between the Indian and the English players.
