Delhi and Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) young wicketkeeper-batter Vansh Bedi has opened up about his viral moment with two of India’s greatest cricketers, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, during the IPL 2025 at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

In that IPL 2025 match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had crushed the hosts, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), by 50 runs, thanks to Rajat Patidar’s fifty and Josh Hazlewood’s three-wicket haul at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on March 28, 2025.

As they gathered for the photo, Kohli was standing one step lower than Dhoni and Vansh, which made him look a little shorter in the frame. The young attacking batter, who was signed up by the CSK for INR 55 lakh, quickly pointed it out and asked the RCB icon to move back up so that all three could stand at the same height.

When Vansh Bedi made MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli laugh at Chepauk

His cheeky request sparked an unexpected burst of laughter from the legendary wicketkeeper-batter Dhoni, who couldn’t stop grinning at the scene. Even Kohli was seen sharing a laugh along with Dhoni and the youngster before adjusting his position on the staircase in Chennai.

The lighthearted moment turned into a picture-perfect memory, capturing not just three smiling faces but also the joy of the young Delhi cricketer, who got to share a candid laugh with his cricketing heroes. This moment went viral across social media, and fans couldn’t stop talking about it.

Bedi made the revelations on the sidelines of the ongoing Delhi Premier League 2025 (DPL 2025), where he is captaining the Purani Dilli 6 team. The youngster recalled that he was standing a few steps higher while Virat Kohli happened to be on a lower step.

So, Bedi requested the former Indian captain to come up the same stairs while mentioning that once everyone is on the same ground, there is no difference between them, as all are equal when playing together.

Hearing that Dhoni couldn’t hold his laugh, and Virat Kohli had also given a broad smile before bursting into laughter. Notably, Kohli also started his cricketing journey with Delhi. On the other hand, Bedi could not make his IPL debut last season due to an ankle ligament injury.

During the conversation with Cricket Kesari, Vansh Bedi said, “It was a very normal conversation; I didn't say anything like that. I was standing on the upper staircase, and he (Virat Kohli) was standing on the lower staircase. I just told him that we all come to the same staircase when we are all playing at the same place, so we are all equal.”
