Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj's India bowling mate, Arshdeep Singh, injured

On Thursday, July 17, the India National Cricket Team started their practice session for the upcoming Test match against the Ben Stokes-led side.

During the session, India suffered a massive blow as Arshdeep Singh seemingly injured his bowling hand and was seen sporting tape on it, reported the Times of India.

Meanwhile, a Sportstar journalist took to X to reveal that the India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has confirmed that the left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has suffered a cut on his bowling hand while trying to stop a ball.

"Arshdeep Singh suffered a cut on his bowling hand while trying to stop a ball, confirms Ryan ten Doeschate. It's strapped with a bandage," the journalist wrote on X.

Arshdeep Singh is yet to get a game in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025

The left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has been warming the bench so far in the ongoing Test series against the Three Lions.

Gautam Gambhir-led team management has preferred Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Akash Deep as the three frontline pacer,s and the trio have been doing a good job.

Mohammed Siraj is the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing Test series with 13 scalps under his belt he followed by Jasprit Bumrah with 12 wickets and Akash Deep with 11 wickets on the list.

Jasprit Bumrah is likely to play the Manchester Test

Bumrah has confirmed his availability only for three out of five Test matches in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, and reportedly, he is in line to play the fourth Test match, making back-to-back appearances, before skipping the last Test.

Meanwhile, the World Cup-winning all-rounder Irfan Pathan said that Bumrah will get enough rest between the Lord's Test and the Manchester Test and should definitely play the fourth game with the series on the line, as his presence acts as a big boost.

“Every team management wants their best player to feature in every game, but the workload management also depends on the bowler’s fitness—whether he is feeling tired or not, whether there are any other complications. But there is a nine-day gap in between, and that should be more than enough for recovery. Since it’s a series-decider, he must play, unless there’s an injury,” Pathan told Sportstar.

“This is the biggest five-match series that you would play abroad in this World Test Championship cycle, and in such a crunch situation, changing too much isn’t ideal—neither for the management nor for the fellow bowlers. In conditions like these, Bumrah’s presence adds a lot of value,” he added.
