Australian batter Travis Head is often remarked as one of the most explosive cricketers in modern-day cricket, be it any format of the game. Marking his fourth consecutive Test hundred in Adelaide, he has now joined the rare company of Australian legend Sir Don Bradman.

Australia are leading well up and forward in the ongoing Ashes. They have already won the first two Tests under their stand-in skipper, Steve Smith, and are in a commanding position in the third Test as well.

One of the core reasons for Australia's dominance has been the left-handed batter Travis Head, who has batted with great resilience in the series and is also their highest scorer with the bat. He recently got to his second hundred of this Ashes and that too at his favourite venue of Adelaide.

Travis Head levels Don Bradman's record with Adelaide ton

Left-handed batter Travis Head has shown some exceptional grit ever since he was promoted to the top of the batting order by the Aussies following Usman Khawaja's injury. He has batted with great dominance and has 2 hundreds in 5 innings.

Coming into Adelaide, Travis Head got to his fourth consecutive century in a Test match in Adelaide. This has helped him equal the record alongside some of the greatest from Australia for having the most consecutive hundreds in a single venue.

The other Australians on this elite list include the great Sir Don Bradman, who had four consecutive hundreds at the MCG and at Headingley in England; former Australian skipper Michael Clarke, who also had four hundreds in Adelaide; and the Aussie Test veteran Steve Smith, who holds the same record at the MCG.

Head has the most centuries by an Australian batter in this decade

Coming into this decade for Australia, Travis Head has ruled across formats for the Men in Yellow. Donning the yellow jersey as well as the baggy green, Head is among the very few players to play across all three formats for Australia in recent times.

Opening in T20Is and ODIs, the left-handed batter is a limited-overs kingpin. Now, after having dominated in the middle-order, Head is also relishing his new role for Australia in the longest format of the game.

He surpassed Australian veteran Steve Smith to have scored the most international centuries for Australia in this decade. In 147 innings, Head has 15 hundreds for Australia, while Steve Smith follows with 14 in 163 innings.

South Australian boys take Australia home on Day 3 with a century partnership

The two big South Australian boys, Alex Carey and Travis Head, have stood strong for the Aussies at the Adelaide Oval. While Australia had their chance to secure the Ashes title with a dominant victory at the Adelaide Oval, Alex Carey helped their innings with a maiden Ashes century in the first innings.

Coming into the second innings, Australia extended their lead past the 350-run mark, at the back of a dominant hundred from Head and a half-century by Alex Carey. The two had also added 122* runs for the 5th wicket and stabilized the Australian innings.

Day 4 of the Adelaide Test will resume with Travis Head batting on 142* and Alex Carey not out on 52*. Australia have a lead of 356 runs in the second innings.
