Trust Other Players The Way You Do With Riyan Parag - Sanjay Manjrekar's Blunt Message For RR

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar feels that the Rajasthan Royals should extend support to Dhruv Jurel in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Sanjay Manjrekar was impressed with the Royals’ decision to acquire Avesh Khan from the Lucknow Super Giants.

Riyan Parag had a challenging IPL 2023, scoring only 78 runs in seven innings with an average of 13.00. Meanwhile, Dhruv Jurel scored 152 runs at an average of 21.71 and an impressive strike rate of 172.73. The franchise retained the two youngsters ahead of the mini-auction.

They Continue To Back Riyan Parag – Sanjay Manjrekar

During a preview of the auction on Star Sports, Sanjay Manjrekar emphasized the need for additional batting strength and urged the team to trust other players similarly to Riyan Parag. He said that Avesh Khan’s addition will enhance the team’s overall bowling depth.

“They continue to back Riyan Parag. I think they might need a little more strengthening of batting and I hope they back Dhruv Jurel because there was something there last season. They need to start trusting other players the way they do with Riyan Parag,” Manjrekar said.

“I like the fact that they have gone for somebody like an Avesh Khan, so there is a little more support there for Prasidh Krishna. This is another team that looks all stacked up,” he added.

Donavon Ferreira Is One Of The Most Powerful Hitters – Irfan Pathan

Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan suggested that the Rajasthan Royals should promote Donavon Ferreira in the batting order to capitalize on his powerful hitting. Pathan highlighted that the addition of Dhruv Jurel as an impact player will strengthen the team.

“Just look at the name Donavon Ferreira. If he can bat at the right position, I think he is one of the most powerful hitters I have seen in recent times. He can struggle against spin but if he bats up the order, maybe No. 3, that slot of one overseas batter will be sorted,” Irfan Pathan said.

“Then Dhruv Jurel coming in with an Impact Player, you can have a longer batting lineup. They look pretty sorted, they are ready to play tomorrow as well, but if they can have an all-rounder in their squad, they will be a much better side on paper.”
