India National Cricket Team batter KL Rahul shared his mantra for success in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 after his heroics in Gabba. He sent a strong message to other batters of the team, saying that batters need to give respect to bowlers for the first 20-30 overs.

India National Cricket Team batter KL Rahul came up with a staggering innings in the ongoing match. It's fair to say that he was the only settled India batter as he looked in complete control and kept his team in the hunt.

KL Rahul, who has been given the opening role in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, has aced the role and by far has looked like the best India batter in the series. The right-hander came up with one of his best batting efforts in Gabba and held the one end despite wickets falling at the other end.

KL Rahul played a magnificent innings of 84 runs off 139 balls and also slammed 8 fours in his innings. He was one of the two batters from the team to play over 100 balls and helped the India National Cricket Team avoid the follow-on in the match.

If you can get through those first 10, 15 overs and get a bit of confidence, then you start feeling good - KL Rahul

While talking about batting in these conditions, Rahul claimed that everybody in the team has their plans. He stressed the need to play the first 15-20 overs to get confidence and added that batting becomes easier with the Kookaburra ball after that. Speaking during the press conference, he explained:

"I think, see, I'm quite certain that everybody has their set plans and they're clear with what they need to do. You also need to have a bit of luck as a top-order batter. Just a little bit that goes your way.

"If you can get through those first 10, 15 overs and get a bit of confidence, then you start feeling good and you start enjoying playing with the Kookaburra ball, with the pace and bounce here in Australia."

Try and respect that the first 30 overs is the bowler's time and give them their time - KL Rahul's message to other India batters

KL Rahul also talked about the struggles of other batters, saying that everyone is trying their best as he expressed his confidence in his teammates. He stressed the need to be strong on defense in the first 30 overs, adding that it's easy to cash in after that. He explained:

"If you look at all our batters, everyone enjoys playing on fast-bouncy wickets. We don't mind it. So it's just about getting through those first 20, 30 balls for everybody. And everyone's trying their best to do that. It's a long series. We've played three games, five innings now. So I'm sure everyone will go back and come up with their plans the next time we bat or in the next couple of games.

"I don't think there's anything different. The only thing you can do in the first 30 overs is to tighten up your defence. Try and respect that the first 30 overs is the bowler's time and give them their time. Leave balls. Play as tight as possible and then really try to cash in once the ball gets older."

We'll all come back again in the next innings and try harder - KL Rahul

KL Rahul concluded by saying that they are confident of coming back in the second innings, explaining how plans work for some and don't for some. He said:

"So that's my plan and that's pretty simple. And I'm sure that's the plan. everybody. For some people, it works on a given day. For some, it doesn't. So we'll all come back again in the next innings and try harder."
