Glenn Maxwell's horror show with the bat in the ongoing IPL 2025 continued on Friday (April 26) as he failed to score big during the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings in IPL 2025.

While PBKS are enjoying a fine campaign this season, Glenn Maxwell has struggled with his form. The team management gave him an extended rope, but he failed to make the chances count. The right-handed batsman played in the first six games of the season but could not make any impact with the bat.

In those six games, the Australian star registered scores of 0, 30, 1, 3, and 7 in this year's tournament. After the string of failures, the PBKS team management finally decided to take action and dropped Glenn Maxwell for the home and away games against Royal Challengers Bengaluru earlier this month.

Glenn Maxwell flops again:

After warming the bench in the last two games, Glenn Maxwell returned to the PBKS Playing 11 for the match against KKR. The World Cup-winner had the perfect opportunity to roar back to form during the game.

He walked out to bat when PBKS were on 160/2 in the 15th over. With less than 6 overs remaining and the team in a strong position, Maxwell had the perfect platform to play his trademark quickfire cameos. However, he just could not get going with the bat and was eventually dismissed for 7 runs off 8 balls.

Maxwell was clean bowled by Varun Chakravarthy in the 17th over. And as Maxwell flopped with the bat once again, the fans were quick to take shots at him. Here are some of the reactions to Maxwell's latest failure with the bat:

Meanwhile, PBKS have finished their innings on 201/4 after their captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first. Their openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh gave them a solid start with the bat by adding 120 runs for the opening wicket.

Priyansh departed after scoring 69 runs, while Prabhsimran scored 83 runs. At one stage, PBKS looked set to post a 220-plus total, but KKR bowlers did well to restrict them to 201.
