Talented Indian Women batter Jemimah Rodrigues may not have been in the best of form in international cricket in the past few months but the Mumbai cricketer was at the height of her powers on Saturday afternoon in the ongoing Hundred Tournament’s fixture between Welsh Fire and Northern Superchargers.

Rodrigues lit up the Hundred ball competition with a majestic unbeaten 43-ball 92 to guide her side to a victory from what was a precarious position at one point.

Chasing 131, Northern Superchargers got off to a horrendous start as they lost their first four wickets for a mere 19 runs within a space of 18 balls.

But, Jemimah Rodrigues, who opened the innings for the Superchargers, proceeded to take the game by the scruff off its neck as she flayed the Welsh Fire bowling attack to all corners of the ground.

It was batting of the highest quality by Jemimah Rodriguez during which she smashed a total of 17 boundaries and one six.

She brought up her fifty in just 26 balls to become the first Indian women cricketer to score a half-century in the newly created format.

Rodrigues smashed her next 42 runs in just 17 balls to guide her side to a comprehensive six-wicket win.

Needless to say that the Mumbai cricketer was adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ for might just be the innings of the tournament thus far.
