Umran Malik Bought By Kolkata Knight Riders For INR 75 lakh at IPL Auction 2025

Umran Malik has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 75 lakh. The right-arm pacer was a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad for the last edition of the IPL.

A highly-rated pacer, Umran made his debut in the IPL in 2021. In his first season, he played only 3 games and picked up 2 wickets. Even though the pacer from Jammu and Kashmir did not set the stage on fire in his first IPL season, Sunrisers Hyderabad retained him for INR 4 crores ahead of the 2022 mega auction.

Malik justified the decision of the franchise by taking 22 wickets in 14 games in IPL 2022. He also picked up a five-wicket haul that season, leaving the cricketing world mighty impressed with his fast-bowling abilities.

The stunning season also paved the way for his debut in international cricket. Umran, however, failed to live up to the expectations in the following two seasons. In IPL 2023, he played 8 games and picked up 5 wickets before playing only one game in IPL 2024.
