Umran Malik vows to go for the kill in IPL 2025

India National Cricket Team pacer Umran Malik talked about getting picked by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He warned the opponents, saying that they would see a different version of him this time and he would kill it.

Umran Malik, who once was touted as the future of Indian bowling, faced one of the most disappointing downfalls in cricket. He rose to the ranks after his heroics in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad as he consistently bowled over 150 kmph and troubled some big Indian names with his pace.

Umran Malik was fast-tracked into the Indian team

Umran was fast-tracked into the Indian team as he represented the team in T20Is and ODIs. But after that, he couldn't maintain the temp and also was dropped from the IPL team. In the last season too, he got to play just one game and failed to make an impact in that.

Umran was released by the SRH, and it was expected that he would fetch a big amount in IPL. But the pacer went unsold in the first past and then was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for his base price of Rs 75 lakh lakh the late part of the auction.

While expressing his gratitude towards the Kolkata Knight Riders, he said that he is confident about getting opportunities and he will give his best to help the team defend the title. He also claimed that he is 200% fit and he wants to make a comeback to the Indian team. Speaking to the Times of India, he explained:

“I am really happy to join KKR this season, so excited to don the KKR jersey. I just can’t wait. They are the defending champions, and I am sure they will win another title this season. I am grateful and thankful to them for giving me this chance, confident about getting plenty of opportunities this time with KKR.

"I am 200 percent fit and raring to go. You will see a different Umran Malik this time. I want to perform well in the IPL and make a comeback to the Indian side. The IPL has been a massive platform for most cricketers, including me"

I am going to kill it in IPL 2025 - Umran Malik

Umran Malik claimed that he will be killing it in the IPL 2025. The fast bowler added that he is confident of taking several wickets this time. While also talking about his speed, he added that he is not sure if he will touch 160, but he will take a lot of wickets at speeds in the 150s. He elaborated:

“I am going to kill it in IPL 2025. I am confident of taking some wickets this time and just want to go out and perform for KKR. Speed gives me a thrill. I am not sure whether I will touch 160, but I am confident I will take plenty of wickets at speeds in the 150s."
